TELL US A BIT MORE ABOUT YOUR CAREER TO DATE / IN LAW?
After graduating, I started out doing Wills at Co-Op Legal Service before moving to Spicketts Battrick in Cardiff to do Wills and Probate. I then worked at DAC Beachcroft as a paralegal in the Vehicle Hire and Damage Team before coming to Carbon.
WHAT DREW YOU TOWARDS Commercial and insolvency LAW?
I enjoy working on transactions and achieving the right outcome for the client. I also like being able to review documents and ensure that they are drafted correctly and in such a way that any disputes in the future can be minimised. I like the opportunity to build relationships with clients.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY ABOUT BEING A LAWYER?
I enjoy having to push myself to ensure that I am doing the best for my clients. The fact that every day is different and that the work is quite varied is exciting and means that I genuinely enjoy going to work each day.
WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU ABOUT YOUR WORK?
The most important thing is getting the right outcome for the client however difficult that may be. I enjoy knowing that I have done a good job and that I have done what I have asked to do and more when it’s possible to do so.
WHAT DO YOUR CLIENTS LIKE ABOUT YOU AND THE WAY YOU WORK?
I think my clients like that they can call me and I will answer and am always happy to help them where I can or can point them in the right direction to get help if I can’t.
HOW DO YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR YOUR CLIENTS?
I make a difference for clients by going beyond what might be expected of me to ensure that their goals are achieved. I am happy and ready to deal with clients’ questions and advise them on their options taking into consideration their individual circumstances. These are problems that I enjoy solving and that I think can make a real difference to clients.
