TELL US A BIT MORE ABOUT YOUR CLIENTS?

I predominantly act for organisations and have significant experience of advising clients within the public, charity, engineering and construction sectors.

On receipt of instructions, both new and existing clients can expect a clear idea of costs, timescales and what I need from the client to progress the matter. I find clients appreciate this level of transparency and the fact I keep them informed throughout the course of a matter. My approach has led to establishing strong working relationships with clients.

WHAT DREW YOU TOWARDS EMPLOYMENT LAW?

I am fascinated by the way people interact with each other in the workplace. In employment law it is often critical to have a good grasp of your client’s workplace culture and team dynamics as these issues can heavily influence the course of tribunal proceedings or formal procedures.

I enjoy taking the time to get to know clients and the issues they face as this also feeds into another aspect of my role which is employment training. I regularly deliver training on a range of employment law topics and if I have worked with the client previously, I always weave client specific issues into my training to ensure it is tailored to the problems/issues they are experiencing.

WHAT DO YOUR CLIENTS LIKE ABOUT YOU AND THE WAY YOU WORK?

Clients appreciate that I take the time to explain complex issues in a straightforward manner. I not only highlight the key legal risks for clients but work with them to identify a strategy or solution which suits the needs of their organisation. Clients come away with a clear understanding of the next steps they need to take but also feel reassured that I will work with them through each twist and turn of tribunal litigation or formal procedure.

WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY?

Being by the sea with family or friends.

TELL US A LITTLE KNOWN FACT ABOUT YOURSELF?

I spent a year as a hospital radio DJ. It was a great experience except the technology was slightly lacking and there was no way of knowing whether anyone was actually listening to the show. I’d like to think that at least one listener enjoyed my playlists and cheesy quizzes such as “Who got the no.1 spot?”
