Ivana Durovic

Paralegal

Describe your role and general skill set…

As a Paralegal at Carbon Law Partners, I support legal partners across a range of practice areas by conducting legal research, drafting documents, and managing matters. My role requires close collaboration with legal professionals, attention to detail, and effective use of legal software, including Actionstep, to ensure the smooth operation of legal matters and client service delivery.

What do you enjoy about your job?

I enjoy supporting multiple partners across a variety of legal sectors as it gives me a variety of experience. I value playing a key role in enabling lawyers to focus on what matters most – delivering high-quality service to their clients. Behind every strong legal team is a well-organised and trusted support system, and I’m proud to be part of that at Carbon.

What attracted you to the firm?

Carbon Law Partners offers a fresh approach, with their priorities rooted in their culture (7Q). The work produced by everyone reflects their care and passion. The ability to gain legal experience and create healthy habits within a company that cares makes all the difference and will follow me throughout my career.

Courage to Change.

Where do you envisage the firm in 5 years’ time?

In 5 years, I believe Carbon will have established itself as a key player in the legal field and a stencil for other firms to follow suit. Sector diversity will be key to Carbon’s success and make them stand out as a comprehensive, well-rounded legal business.

What was your first job, and what did you learn from it?

My first job was working in McDonald’s as a Crew Member, whilst studying at Sixth Form. I learnt a lot of valuable lessons there, however the most important lesson I learnt was the value of teamwork and staying calm under pressure. In such a fast-paced environment, clear communication, efficiency, and supporting your colleagues were essential – skills that I’ve carried with me into every role since.

What have been the highlights of your career to date? (can be non-Carbon)

While I believe the highlights of my career are still ahead, there have been several pivotal moments that have significantly shaped me professionally. Earning my degree was a major achievement, and it has provided me with a solid foundation in the legal field. Additionally, my previous experience in customer service has been invaluable, helping me develop strong teamwork, communication skills and work ethic.

How do you unwind outside of work?

I am the most relaxed when I am imagining and creating things. Art, writing, photography and gardening will instantly shift my focus.
