Carbon Law Partners is home to some outstanding yet unassuming corporate and financial services lawyers – none more so than our very own COO, William Brewis, who is acting for Clifton Asset Management Plc on a series of acquisitions of financial adviser businesses (IFAs).
Clifton Asset Management develops and implements innovative financial services, products and technologies. It has offered specialist financial services to business and individuals throughout the UK since 1986, including business funding, wealth management, auto-enrolment, exit strategies, employee benefits and individual and corporate protection
Clifton recently secured significant funding from independent asset manager BOOST&CO to support their buy and build strategy and realise an extensive pipeline of opportunities. The first in this new round of IFA acquisitions was Burnett & Reid Wealth Management Ltd completed in July with Noble James Associates Ltd and Mark Phillips Ltd following soon after. William acted on these initial acquisitions and will be remaining involved for other IFA deals in the pipeline.
Anthony Carty, Financial Planning Director at Clifton Asset Management, said:
“This funding will enable us to accelerate our growth, adding to our network of businesses and enhancing the services that we offer. It will enable us to continue our technological innovation, ensuring that we continue to lead the way with our technology-forward approach. We look forward to announcing further acquisitions over the coming months.”
William Brewis, COO and banking and financial services lawyer at Carbon Law Partners commented:
“Clifton Asset Management is an innovator in the financial services sector as Carbon Law Partners is an innovator in the legal sector, so being able to partner on this work has been a meeting of minds! We look forward to continuing to support them in their corporate M&A work as they continue to acquire IFAs.”
Clifton Asset Management now has £1 billion AUM with group revenues of circa £10m.
