Describe your role and general skill set…
My role focuses on supporting Carbon’s marketing activity across social media, content creation, website development and brand communication. I bring a creative and commercially focused approach, with skills in digital marketing, communication and content development, and enjoy finding new ways to strengthen how a business connects with its audience.
What do you enjoy about your role?
I enjoy the opportunity to learn something new every day and put the knowledge I’ve gained through my university course into practice in a professional environment. I also enjoy facing new challenges that I haven’t experienced before, finding solutions and learning from the process. Having the opportunity to work alongside Carbon Sport is an added bonus, as I’ve always had a strong interest in sport and enjoy seeing how marketing can be applied within the industry.
What was your first job, and what did you learn from it?
My first job was selling firewood through a small business I set up with my brother. It taught me a lot about communicating with customers, as we also handled the deliveries ourselves, as well as pricing, sales and taking responsibility for a business from the ground up. It also gave me an early interest in the commercial side of running a business.
How do you unwind outside of work?
I like to stay active in my spare time, whether that’s going to the gym, playing rugby for Penarth RFC or getting out for a game of pickleball. I also enjoy meeting up with friends for a pint and spending time with them outside of work.
Where is your favourite place to visit?
Portugal, particularly the Algarve. I really enjoy going there with my family, and it has everything I look for in a holiday; great weather, good food and friendly people. It’s also a great place for all the cousins to spend time together, usually finding an excuse to escape the older family members and enjoy some quality time of our own.
Favourite Music, Artist or Band?
My music taste is pretty varied. I enjoy British rap and grime, but I also listen to artists such as Olivia Dean and Sienna Spiro, as well as the recent rise of Kingfishr. I’m also a big fan of house music, particularly when I’m out with friends.
Tell us an interesting or little-known fact about yourself:
I was an extra in the film Mr Burton, where I played one of the rugby players in a fight scene. I even ended up being partnered with the actor playing Mr Burton himself. It’s probably the best two seconds of acting you’ll ever see
